Growing and Learning in My School and My Community!

It’s the final term of the school year! This semester, our theme was ‘My School and my Community’ and the children engaged in a variety of activities which helped them learn about the things they can do in school and in their communities.

Let’s have a look at some of the activities which took place during the semester!

“What animals shall we make with playdoh?” Yap Sen focusing intently on cutting animals out of playdoh with a cookie cutter.

Kayley is taking part in a ball game in class. Games can be a good opportunity for children to learn social skills when playing with their peers.

“We have recess play in school! It’s a lot of fun playing with my friends.” Hohmann and Xintung are playing with their classmates during recess.

Ting Yew helping to take attendance as the ‘Attendance Boss’ for that day. Taking part in class duties help the children understand that everyone has a role to play in their classes and schools.

National Day activities are a great way to learn about the community we live in. This National day, some of our children coloured and decorated their own HDB flat colouring sheets which were then put up on the bulletin board to form a block of flats.

“Let’s go to the supermarket!” Alfred and Ranav learning about the supermarket in Dramatic play room through pretend play activities.
