Ms Alina Chua

HEAD of Outreach Service
MS ALINA CHUA is a psychologist by training and currently heads the Outreach Therapy Services of Autism Resource Centre (Singapore) or ARC(S). A clinical doctoral candidate, she has extensive experience in working with individuals with an Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and their families. An extremely skilled therapist and clinician, she has developed and implemented numerous programs relating to social skills and problem-solving for individuals with ASD.
Ms Chua has also developed teaching protocols for various social tools, which were successfully implemented for individuals with Asperger and High Functioning Autism.
Apart from her clinical experience, Ms Chua had held tutoring appointments in Australian universities.

Ms Anita Russell
|

Autism Consultant
A practicing speech–language pathologist since 1983, MS ANITA RUSSELL has undergone higher training in the areas of cognition, language and social interaction in autism, parent training/coaching, and diagnosis and treatment in Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). Ms Russell has worked with adults, adolescents and children with autism throughout her career in various clinical, school and community settings.
From 1996 to 2002, Ms Russell directed the multi-disciplinary Anita Russell Communication Therapy Centre that specialized in the provision of individual, group, classroom communication and social interaction intervention programmes for children on the autism spectrum.
Her primary professional scope at Autism Resource Centre (Singapore) or ARC(S) has included the review and development of best practice autism intervention programs as well as research and development of initiatives for supporting and teaching students with autism at the pre-school and primary school levels. Ms Russell also plays a key role in the provision of specialist autism training and coaching of parents, caregivers and professionals.

Dr Lam Chee Meng

Autism Consultant
A practicing psychologist since 1985, DR LAM CHEE MENG graduated with a PhD in Psychology from the University of Auckland and was awarded a Postgraduate Fellowship under the post-graduate scholarship from the Medical Research Council (New Zealand).
Dr Lam had also been trained in various assessment methods and intervention techniques for improving cognitive functioning and behavioural management. After receiving training in instrumental enrichment and the learning potential assessment device in Jerusalem, Dr Lam has been incorporating the ideas and applications in his clinical work.

Mrs Patricia Cheng

Autism Consultant
A practicing psychologist since 1986, MRS PATRICIA CHENG graduated with a Master of Science in School Psychology (USA). She has undergone higher training in diagnosis and intervention treatment for children with an Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD).
Mrs Cheng has worked with children with special needs for over 21 years in various clinical, school and community settings, with the last 12 years being focused on autism intervention, training, assessment and diagnosis.

Mrs Stephenie Khoo

Principal of WeCAN Early Intervention
MRS STEPHENIE KHOO oversees the early intervention programme as well as a curriculum research and development arm focusing on the development of a nation-wide scalable autism curriculum for young children with autism.
She has a Bachelor in Arts from Singapore, a Post Graduate Bachelor in Special Education from Australia as well as a Masters in Applied Psychology (Educational Psychology) from Institute of Education, National Technological University, Singapore.
Mrs Stephenie Khoo has had thirteen years of experience in special education and was formerly the Principal of a special school.

Dr. Gary B. Mesibov (Visiting Consultant)

Director of Division TEACCH, University of North Carolina
An internationally recognised statewide program, TEACCH is one of a kind in its pioneering approaches to service, treatment, training, research and the education of individuals with autism. Prior to Dr. Mesibov's appointment as Director of Division TEACCH, he served as the Division's Co-Director from 1987 and the Associate Director from 1983. Dr. Mesibov also serves as Professor of Psychology, Dept. of Psychiatry, and Clinical Professor, Dept. of Psychology at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
