Our WeCAN EIP intervention model has been developed on a conceptual model of autism understanding developed by Division TEACCH (Treatment and Education of Autistic and related Communication handicapped Children) University of North Carolina, led by Professor Gary Mesibov.
WeCAN EIP is firmly committed to using key elements of the model including an understanding of the ‘Culture of Autism and the intervention framework of structured teaching. Many of our intervention staff have undergone training at Division TEACCH in the USA. An even greater number of professionals have been taught, coached and mentored by professionals from Division TEACCH in our schools and centres in Singapore.
Throughout the website, we have made all attempts to acknowledge Division TEACCH as the principal owner of concepts used in related documents and training materials.
