The Ministry of Community Development Youth and Sports (MCYS) provides grants for each child in the WeCAN Early Intervention Programme (EIP). The amount of grants each child gets is dependent on the per capita income of each individual family.
Means Testing
In order to qualify for government grants, all clients must complete a Means Testing Application Form. These will be provided when child is offered a place at the intervention programme.
In the course of the next few years, the grants given to families of per capita income above $1,000 will be less and less each year. In 2010, these families will no longer qualify for government subsidy due to Means Testing Guidelines. However, families of per capita income below $1,000 will receive increasingly more assistance from the MCYS over the next few years.
In addition to the MCYS, the National Council of Social Service (NCSS) also provides additional support to each child in the WeCAN EIP.
